Kathryn Gimborys serves as IHEP's government affairs associate, supporting the organization's advocacy agenda. A member of the communications and external affairs team, she manages IHEP's legislative outreach and coalition engagement, monitors policy proposals at federal and state levels, and works with the Director of Communications and External Affairs to craft and align IHEP's strategic messaging.
Gimborys previously served as both a communications associate and communications intern at IHEP, as well as an education policy intern at the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, & Pensions. Before entering the education policy space, she interned at several civil rights organizations, including The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, People For the American Way, and the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas. She has also served as a fellow for national and local political campaigns.
A native of Reno, Nevada, she earned her B.A. in political science from The George Washington University.
